Autumn Kaylor for St. Joseph County Auditor

In 1979, Autumn Kaylor’s family fled Vietnam on a small boat during a storm, running out of food and fuel after days at sea. They were rescued by a Japanese ship captain who had been ordered not to stop—but chose to act anyway, knowing their lives depended on it.

Because of his courage, her family survived. Autumn was later born in a refugee camp in Japan and came to the United States as an infant.

That story is the foundation of who she is today: someone who believes in responsibility, integrity, and doing the right thing—especially when it matters most.

That same sense of responsibility has guided her career.

Autumn spent 15 years with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, contributing to the collection and integrity of the economic data that helps measure inflation and inform national decision-making. She later built her career in corporate finance, where she managed financial operations, worked through audits, and partnered across organizations to ensure accuracy & accountability.

For the past three years, Autumn has served as Board Treasurer for Harris Baseball Softball, Inc., overseeing budgeting, cash flow, and financial governance for a local organization serving families in the community. She is also an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., with a focus on community service and engagement.

Autumn holds an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and is a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP).

She and her husband live in Granger, where they are raising three children, including a son currently serving overseas in the U.S. Air Force. Her father lives with the family and remains actively involved in their lives and the community, including volunteering with Harris Baseball Softball.

Autumn is running for St. Joseph County Auditor to bring a disciplined, transparent, and accountable approach to managing taxpayer dollars. She believes the job should be done with precision, integrity, and a clear commitment to the people it serves.
